Give Away Events & Promotions
A Give-Away Event is basically a joint venture where business operators come together and agree to to swap leads.
As a 'contributor' you send your list to sign up for the giveaway, as do all the other 'contributors'. Usually the gifts are listed in the order of how many people each contributor referred, so those who promote the giveaway the most will have their gift listed higher up the list.
The benefits of Giveaway Events
Well 90% of the benifit is in list building.
Everyone who wants to download your gift will have to opt-in on your website to get it. If you have a free ebook product you give away, it's a great way to promote it to a large group of people and add hundreds or even thousands of subcribers to your list in a matter of days, totally free of charge.
You should expect a lot of people to unsubscribe from your list as soon as they have your gift however. If they download a lot of gifts they'll be getting a lot of confirmation emails ... and a lot of people will unsubscribe immediately to stem the flow.
To counter this, I'd actually suggest you don't send any auto-reply messages for at least a week!
Let them grab the product and leave them be! You can offer them other items later on, only if they are still on your list. Don't scare them off on the first day!
Making Money From Giveaway Events
You can monetize in other ways though and you should use multiple strategies to make the most of this ...
1. After people sign up: Generally you'll get them to submit a name and email to your autoresponder, so you can offer them something there ... some people use a One-Time-Offer but I'd suggest a free affiliate offer of some sort might work better.
2. After they confirm their email: This is where you can make a one-time-offer ... just make sure it's related to the free download you're offering and likely to interest the same people.
3. On the download page: Always try to throw in an extra or bonus of some description, and then recommend a link to another (commercial) product or yours or an affiliate option.
4. Embedded links in the ebook: What evfer else you do, you should make sure your ebook has a few relevant affliate links throughout it, so even if people buy nothing during the download process and uunsubscribe immediately they've got the book, there's still a chance they'll take action later and you'll pick up something for your efforts.

anywhere else, so I figured what the heck ... it only takes a few
mintues to set up, i get some goodies I want, and I might even

Auto Pilot Cash Streams:
This is an ongoing Give-Away that is set up to just keep on
running indefinitely. I've only just started with this one so I'll
post more info when it's had a chance to run for a while. It does
have a number of revenue options built-in (that pay you directly
via PayPal and ClickBank) so it does look like it could be quite
handy.

At last count over 800 gifts from hundreds fo marketers. They
are expecting 200,000 visitors for the event and contributors are

Choosing Products To Offer At Giveaway Events
eBooks are the obviously product for these events, preferably books you haven't offered this way before.
Some people will try to use Rebranded eBooks .. .books someone else wrote and you embedded your links into, and while this is quite within the scope of the rebranded license, you'll often find the Giveaway event organiser will reject them if there are multiple people offering the exact same thing.
You will do better if you can find a PLR title and assemble that with your own graphics and title, and present as a unique item.
Of course other items will do well ... maybe even better give the number of ebooks on offer at some of these events. So you can also consider PLR software? Video presentations? Audio recordings? Maybe a screensaver of your images? Desktop wallpapers?
As long as it costs you nothing to distribute and is gonig to interest the kind of people you want on your mailing list, then almost anything could work!
